The Climatographers are developers of the Climate Web. Dr. Mark C. Trexler LinkedIn Profile and Laura H. Kosloff LinkedIn Profile have a combined total of 50 years of climate change and advisory experience. They founded the Climatographers in 2012 with the goal of improving climate change decision-making by facilitating access to climate actionable knowledge.

Mark joined the World Resources Institute (WRI) in 1988 to work on climate change, and carried out the first assessments of the climate change mitigation potential of temperate and tropical forestry. He has worked extensively with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and with companies as well as governmental and nongovernmental organizations around the world.

With Laura Kosloff Mark founded the first business climate risk consultancy in the U.S. after leaving WRI in 1991, through which they managed many climate mitigation “firsts,” including Nike’s first carbon footprint, taking Stonyfield Farm Yogurt through the process to become the first “carbon neutral” company, and building the first carbon pricing model. Mark was a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change when it was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, and most recently was Director of Climate Risk for the global risk firm of DNV GL based in Oslo, Norway.

When the London School of Economics needed a textbook for its first “business and climate change” course in 2011, Mark and Laura were asked to write it. The resulting book was published in 2012 as The Changing Profile of Business Climate Risk by DoSustainability publishers, which  specialized in short books designed for senior decision-makers to read in a couple of hours or less. It was followed in 2013 by Adapting to Climate Change– 2.0 Enterprise Risk Management

Mark is currently a Visiting Scholar teaching Business and Climate Change at George Washington University in Washington, DC. Laura is an environmental lawyer with extensive research, litigation, and in-house counsel experience relating to climate change.

Mark  and Laura,  in building  the Climate Web as a comprehensive climate knowledge solution, may have read more about climate change than anyone else on the planet. That is reflected in the wide range of Climate Web enabled information products they  have  authored  or  are  developing.
